FREEZER COOLER REHABILITATION

Heine Construction was tasked with breaking out a floor slab in the industrial building of a meat packing plant. The existing floor had been heaving due to the lack of radiant heating lines, which led to freezing. To address this, Heine Construction broke out the floor to install radiant lines capable of melting 8 feet of permafrost. As the permafrost melted, the roof, which had been displaced by the frozen ground, naturally settled back into place, dropping 18 inches without any additional roof work required. After the radiant lines were installed, new concrete was poured, and updated mechanical freezer equipment was added, ensuring the plant’s floor would remain stable and free from heaving.
